So we're going to cover a few different areas here. It should be easy to keep up as this is of course a piece of writing. Or is it????? OOOOoooOOOOoooo.
So the joke I worked on the facepalm was that I was going to watch horror movies while Melissa was away consisting of American Psycho and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles (2014). Ha. Ha.
So American Psycho is a pretty fascinating movie. I think this has been the second time I've actually seen it but maybe not in its entirety. I will admit though I have no direct knowledge of work that may be associated with the movie. And for that, I don't fully understand the implications of the movie. It seems much more likely that the events within are more of a fever/drug induced dream based off of corrupted and dark thoughts rather than actual murders.
Moving right along I watched the TMNT movie right after. That was trash. The only moment that seemed reasonable was the elevator scene with the beat boxing. And that felt so out of place given the tone of the rest of the movie. It just seemed to try too hard to balance between fun and serious. They totally earned that PG-13 rating from the one use of "ass" though. Never mind the whole, let's make an origin story of a way too established franchise and completely throw any of those ideas out because obviously with the way we took the narrative none of those original ideas would work, and besides, the original work was not cool enough, sort of thing. I did not like the movie. Michael Bay is really quite talented at taking childhood memories, and destroying them with malice.
So, I hate marketing. Both its concept and implementation.
Also we had a Thanksgiving recently. In a rather ironic I suppose twist of fate, the U.S. government is fighting with Native Americans. Again. You would swear that's our national past time. If every other crazy thing is going on too, Flint Michigan still doesn't have clean water. This has been a unique and particularly harsh year, and it's not even over yet! Perhaps that should be feared a little.
Sticking with the crazy. I like conspiracy things. This should be well known by now. I don't exactly like religious institutions (see, Library of Alexandria), I'm all for discussing whether the Earth is round or flat, gravity versus magnetism, the amount of control the people in power have over others, but seriously, some of the videos on Youtube feature some really grabbing pieces. I don't like the use of images from videos that seem to show "transformations" or "lizard" like features. That is just way too reaching.
I think that's about all I had. I hurt my shoulder though, that sucks.
Sexy, space is the place and the bird is the word.
OH WAIT! Totally forgot about the other important thing.
So I read an article that linked through the NPR website. And after that article I happened to glance at one that was about a team tracking down the person behind a fake news site and a particular article about a person investigating the Clinton email scandal 2016 but DIED. Using what I can only assume was some sweet hacking skills, they were able to track down this creator of various sites that liked to publish false articles pertaining especially to politics. And what truly bothered me the most, was that when asked what got him interested in this system he ran, me told them that during school he had classes involving political science, and that what he gleaned from those lessons was an interest in propaganda and misinformation. Now I have my own ideas when it comes to propaganda and misinformation: burn it the fuck down! This jackass runs quite a few different websites that specialize in that kind of content. Obviously we differ greatly in how we interpret these thoughts. My way is right, there's is left. And wrong.
Sexy, ok, I'm done now.
