In Memoriam

Hello everyone, Deus here.  It's been a while hasn't it?

Well I've had a few thoughts today and wanted to share.  What I'll say is probably not new, and may be mildly offensive to some I suppose.  If you have seen it before and happen to agree, let me know.  If you want to add something, go for it.  If you don't agree with something, debate a counter point, don't just tell me, "You're wrong, stupid, and smell bad!"  Because I usually smell pretty good.

So we find ourselves in the so-so land of America in the middle of Memorial weekend of the galactic calendar year I don't know because I haven't been in contact with my galactic sources recently, but 2016 anyway.
I have a lot of thoughts regarding all of the holidays surrounding the memory and support of especially those have served or are currently serving our country.
First of all, to those people, thank you very much for you service.  I know quite a few of you have fought the good fight.  I also imagine some haven't.  I shall explain along the way.
Secondly, to the people who are indifferent.  I recently saw a thing about being indifferent.  You say, "I didn't choose to send people into wars and conflict, it doesn't involve me."  Shut up.  You're wrong.  The fact that you can utter those words proves you to be.  Again, most of those people did things so that you, not as a named individual, but as an individual being, could chose the paths you have.  At least acknowledge the various sacrifices made and continue on.
Third, to those who are actively against not only the idea of war and conflict and the individuals who participate in any stage of those things, I want to reiterate the idea that those people for the most part gave you the ability to not agree and complain loudly on social media about concerning wage issues.  But more importantly in my opinion, research and know what to be angry about and disagree with.
Because of course when was one of the last major times people went with it, didn't question the higher ups, and everything turned out great.

 Ohhhhhh, yeah.  Oddly, just to note, that image was acquired by way of an article titled

And while I wanted to adjust the size of that, I conceded not to.

So am I comparing the American people to the Nazis?  Maybe.  Just maybe.

My point is that not all Germans, especially the individual soldiers, were to blame, and they've gone to great lengths to distance themselves from that past.  But the actions of a relative few and notably powerful figures, quite literally dictated the actions of the many.  Now that is not to say that those who felt opposed to the ideas being presented didn't voice their opinion, and that didn't stop the bullet either.  That is a system that says agree with me or die.  It is fear based.  And correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't our country kind of slightly founded on trying to get away from that system?

Another really good example of things to point out as something good people should report on is by way of Fullmetal Alchemist.

By the way, spoilers if you haven't watched especially the first series.

The whole point of the war on a certain kind of people was for the gain of a very few.  And the instigators of the war were on the side of "good" and used deceptive and manipulative tactics to obtain a goal.  I speak of Envy acting as a soldier to start the entire conflict, only to give an excuse for war and massacre an entire population to make a philosopher stone.  I'm saying America is trying to make a philosopher stone.

But seriously, just saying that I very firmly believe our governing body and the military have done things in the past that were most certainly not good.  Not in general or for the American people.  I'm also stating that our government has been proven to use plants to incite conflict.  So in summary, understand that what freedom we do have in this country, which is notably better than many parts of the world, is due to those who have served her.  Giggity.  But do question the motives of any operation that seems fishy.  The argument is simple, why hide something that is good for the whole of the nation or the world even.  And simply live your life in a way the exemplifies and promotes that freedom so that others will be affected positively.  Whatever you feel needs to be done after that, is up to you.
